Math Standards Govern Curriculum
Curriculum is defined as "a course of study in one subject at a school or college". In our case, our curriculum is 5th and 6th grade math.
The contents of our math curriculum is specified by the State of Arizona in the Arizona Common Core (ACC) Math Standards.
In addition, ASU Prep Academy has adopted an international math standard, the Cambridge International Exam (CIE) math framework. The Arizona Common Core Math Standards and the Cambridge math framework map very closely to one another. In most cases, when there is a difference between the two standards, it is that the Cambridge math framework contains additional concepts. These additional
concepts are treated, and taught, as "enhancements" to the Arizona Math Common Core Standards.
Below, you can download the standards / frameworks directly to you desktop.
Note 1 : I recommend first reviewing the ACC standards using the "placemat format". The placement format is a summary
of the standard and is designed to be printed on 11 X 17 paper ---- about the size of a table placemat
Note 2: You can view or download all ACC math standards, K-12, on the Arizona Department of Education website: http://www.azed.gov/azcommoncore/mathstandards/
Note 3: You can view and download all CIE math frameworks for ages 5 - 19 on the Cambridge website: http://beta.cie.org.uk/
